Man am I ever giving my red heads some loving.
Alright, onto the next backstory!
Next one after this one might be Max or James's since I have their picture completely planned out.
Cailean MacArthur of the MacArthur family was born and raised in the rural plains of Scotland. His family owns a great deal of land and even a castle in the area.
Cai had a pretty normal upbringing, but it was a very...sheltered one.
Because he was born mute Cai was treated as delicately as he could be by his parents when all the poor kid wanted to do was just shout at them "I'M OKAY YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS." His brothers and sisters did their best to involve Cai in their play when their parents weren't looking, and for that he is very grateful to them. It helped him to feel some semblance of normalcy in his life.
When Cai was going through elementary school he discovered, quite naturally, his talent for art. It was something that built up over time as Cai thought of it mostly as a means of communication other than through sign language or through writing it down. With a firm grasp that maybe, just maybe he could do something with this Cailean kept at it. Of course his parents were all for it as nobody else in the family was an artist.
What they didn't expect was for Cai to pack up his bags after finishing art school and heading for New York. The boy needed a change of scenery, a change of space to continue his work. Cai just needed to spread his wings out and go for it. He still gets money from his parents back in Scotland and every once in a while a sibling drops by to visit him at his apartment loft downtown. He also has a job at the local gallery organizing art fair and showcases for rising artists in the area.
Overall, my pup is doing quite well for himself. ;u;
Well, he does forget to eat when he works and his hair is constantly in a stage of 'bedhead,' but other than that he is A-Okay. |:
But yes, I sketched this out on my tablet and I'm quite happy with how it turned out! I'm trying to get used to sketching on my tablet, but I still prefer the traditional sketching on paper then scanning.
And yes, that is Cailean's tail. Nobody could see it before in his ref and stuff because it curls up into a tiny ball behind him. Fun fact, it shows how much energy he has. When it's curled up he is full of energy ready to go, but when it is uncurled that shows how exhausted he is. Just 'goodbye world I am gone.'

I really love Cailean's backstory, man. I have a weakness for simpler stories, and it really explains and fits his character well.
